Shannon Becker was born and raised in Southwest, MO. As he graduated college from Missouri Southern State University he was upped to program director at KOBC-Joplin. A position he held for 5 years at KOBC-Joplin. During his tenure the station achieved national reporting status and set station records with the highest ratings of a non-commercial radio station in the nation (94, 95 & 96).

With that knowledge of radio and a personal savvy with artists he transitioned to Nashville's Word Records as the head of radio promotions in the late 90s. At Word Records, Becker delivered 6 of Point of Grace's 24 consecutive #1 singles, a world record that still stands. While at Word Records he also helped launch Michael W. Smith's Rocketown Records (Chris Rice, Watermark, Ginny Owens) as their head of promotion.

With the success of Rocketown Records, Becker left Word Records in 1999. Rocketown Records became his flagship client at Big Town Productions & Promotions. Since launching 8 years ago his resume of artists seems like a 'who's who' in the Christian music industry. He has promoted a total of 50 #1 singles at the format.

Big Town Productions & Promotions highlights include promoting Third Day's first #1 AC single with Essential Records ("I Have Always Loved You"). Introducing Jeremy Camp to the Christian format. And the concept of continuing to work & develop artists with record labels over a long period of time. These milestones have helped to build a strong roster and reputation for Big Town Productions & Promotions.

On the walls of his office you can see accolades, Gold and Platinum Records from artists: Kirk Franklin, dctalk, Selah, Point Of Grace, Natalie Grant, tobymac, Jennifer Knapp, Stacie Orrico, Third Day, Kutless, Jeremy Camp and others. Recent active & inactive clients include: Curb Records (Plumb, Natalie Grant, Selah, Fernando Ortega, Nate Sallie), Tooth & Nail Records (Underoath, Anberlin, Thousand Foot Krutch), BEC Recordings (Jeremy Camp, Hawk Nelson, Kutless, Seventh Day Slumber), Whiplash Records (Jill Parr), Indelible Creative Group (Phil Joel, SPUR58, Jeff Deyo), Slanted Records (Caleb Rowden), Daywind Records (The Crabb Family, Beverley Mitchell), SHELTERecords (Everlife, Andy Chrisman, Gary Chapman), Fo Yo Soul Entertainment (Kirk Franklin), Word/Warner Bros. Records (Jaci Velasquez, Jackson Waters), INO Records (Sonicflood). Becker is not just a marketing professional, but a friend of the industry and a valuable resource to clients.
